New stories crop up every day.I reached my 94 year old grandfather by phone. After some explaining about the car, he took a keen interest. He remembered well the cars and families who owned electric cars as a boy in Sheridan, Wyoming. What a century! Or at our beloved LAX airport, you can park and charge for free(!) in main terminal parking. They have 10 chargers set up and I routinely use this service on business trips. Over Christmas however, all charger stations were full so I parked in an adjacent spot. When I returned my car was parked at a charger with a full charge and a little note inside from someone on the GM EV team. The note said "Hope you don't mind, but I moved your car for you. Happy New Year!" Indeed! Or this one. For Thanksgiving, I drove to visit my brother-in-law's family in Orange County on a single charge only to learn that no charging stations were open (at that time) on holidays at Saturn dealerships. So, we plugged the on-board backup charger into the AC wall and 10 hours later, I could drive home. And as a techno-phile, I really enjoyed hearing the results of a routine check-up. The Saturn service guy said "...yes, and while we were checking tire pressure and coolant levels for you," (the only two service items ever really required on an EV), "...we upgraded the software for you."
